SDET – Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

  • Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
  • Full-Time
  • On-Site

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior SDET who can own quality engineering across our platform. From automation frameworks to release readiness, for systems where accuracy directly affects clinical decisions.

This is not a "write Selenium scripts" role. You will design test strategy, build and maintain automation frameworks across UI, APIs, and integration layers, partner with engineering to shift quality left, and bring rigor to a fast-shipping environment where a missed edge case affects real patient workflows.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Test Automation at Scale: Design and extend automation frameworks across UI (Selenium/Playwright), API, and integration layers for our oncology AI platform.
  • Quality for AI-Powered Workflows: Build test strategies for systems that process millions of medical documents including clinical trial matching, document extraction, and patient-level reasoning pipelines.
  • Release Engineering: Own end-to-end release readiness with comprehensive Smoke, Integration, System, and Regression coverage on every cycle.
  • Shift-Left Quality: Partner with engineers from requirement to release - review designs, catch ambiguity early, prevent regressions instead of just finding them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain automation frameworks across UI, API, and integration layers
  • Author and execute comprehensive test plans covering critical product flows
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with clear quality gates
  • Debug complex issues across the full stack — UI, backend services, data pipelines
  • Translate product requirements into concrete test scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Drive QA process improvements that raise test reliability and coverage over time
  • Mentor and raise the bar for the broader QA function as the team grows
  • Ensure validation rigor aligned with HIPAA and healthcare compliance expectations

Our Tech Stack:

  • Frontend: React.js / TypeScript
  • Backend: Java / Spring Boot
  • AI Services: Python
  • Database: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch
  • Infrastructure: AWS, Azure, Docker / Kubernetes, Temporal
  • Automation: Selenium / Playwright, REST API testing tools, CI/CD pipelines

Must Haves:

  • 4–6 years of hands-on SDET / Test Automation experience on production systems
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Deep experience with Selenium (or Playwright/Cypress) for UI automation
  • API testing experience — REST contract validation, authentication, error scenarios
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong full-stack debugging instincts, comfortable triaging across UI, services, and data layers
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and test design techniques

Good to Have:

  • Experience testing AI/ML-powered features (LLM outputs, agent pipelines, non-deterministic systems)
  • Experience in health-tech, EHR integrations, or HIPAA-regulated environments
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDA)
  • Performance testing experience (load, stress, soak)
  • Exposure to security testing and OWASP fundamentals

What We’re Looking For:

  • Quality-obsessed: You treat a missed edge case as a serious miss, not a checkbox
  • Strong ownership mindset: You own release quality end-to-end
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Collaborative: You work with engineers to prevent bugs, not just find them
  • Self-aware: You bring a peer-calibrated quality bar, not a solo-SDET worldview

Why Join Us?

  • Impact at scale: The quality you ensure directly affects AI workflows that accelerate cancer research and improve patient outcomes globally
  • Cutting-edge problems: Test complex, data-intensive systems at the intersection of AI, healthcare, and scale
  • World-class team: Collaborate with top talent across AI, engineering, and product with best-in-industry compensation
  • Culture that ships: Fast-paced, ownership-driven environment with company-sponsored workations (Bali, Sri Lanka, Goa, and more)

Perks & Benefits:

  • Lunch provided at the office — one less daily decision
  • Flexible working hours — we care about output, not clock-ins
  • Comprehensive health insurance for you and your family
  • Zomato meal benefits for early starts and late nights
